omg! you have got to try out the new pumpkin spice flavored microjig. maker of the grr-ripper. work safer.work smarter. the two sides are an inch thick so i'm going to glue together two half-inchboards. once that's dry, i'll cut out the two sides.

i'm going to attach these templates to the edges of each of those. i'll carefully cut out this pattern on mybandsaw. the dowel will run through these inch anda quarter holes. i'm sanding out these holes to make them alittle bigger so that dowel will slide through them easily. if you don't have a sander, you can just sand the dowel down a little. and i've got a handy tip for you:

if you are considering making woodworkingvideos, never show yourself sanding a dowel. unless you want a lot of really crude comments! it's going to be a lot easier to paint thisback before i assemble it. i like using acrylic craft paints because they dry so quickly. this template will help me establish the pattern to drive the nails into the back.

i'll just tape it on. i find i have to cut away some of this paper the nails have grabbed. it might be a good idea to make the holes in the paper before you drive the nails in. i'll use my normal blade on my tablesaw to cut the plexiglass. i'll attach the plexiglass with some screws. this board will keep it from sliding out ofposition.

i'm drilling this hole in the center of thisdowel a little more than half way through. i can test it out with this 1" gumball that extends up just a little past the dowel again, i'm painting most of these pieces before i assemble them. i'm gluing on this 1/4" board to the frontof this piece. i'm going to center this on that board. and i'll draw a line around it.

i'm going to glue these strips just outsideof that line. i don't want the lid to fit tight. i'll put just a little bit of weight on itwhile it dries. i'm going to screw these little caps onto the ends of the dowel. i'm not going to paint the dowel because it's going to be sliding back andforth and i'm afraid the paint will chip off. i've screwed the ends on so that the dowelis removable.

that will also help me when i go to lacquerthe entire piece so i won't get any on the dowel. now i can glue this base assembly together. finally i cut out four of these wedge-shapedpieces that are going to sit back here so that when the gumball falls it will help push it forward a little. i've removed the plexiglass from this part and now i'll glue it into place.

i'm going to transfer the outlines of theletters for this top piece using my inkjet printer. then i'll paint them in. i put a dot of yellow on the head of each of these nails. i'll glue this piece onto the lid. and i'm finishing everything with spray lacquer. that works out way better than i ever expected! if you'd like to make your own candy plinkogame

check down in the description for a free setof plans. you could probably make a game out of this. i guess that's why i put the numbers on there. maybe you could come up with a scoring system of some sort. whoever gets the highest score gets to eatall the gum. as always, thank you for watching woodworking for mere mortals. if this is your first time here, welcome!
